Me. Muthiah. Some know me as ‘mootz’ or ‘muts’. Some friends of mine back in junior college conveniently decided to shorten my name and the nickname stuck.
If you are reading this, we have probably met and already know who I am. If not, here is a brief intro to myself.
Muthiah, Turning 22 this december, Lived in Singapore most of my life, Just finished 1st year Aerospace Engineering at NTU.
I studied in the St.Andrew’s family of schools for 12 years and fiercely loyal to my alma mater. It’s a running joke that the blood that flows in me is blue. Having spent most of my formative years in St.Andrew’s, the school had quite a significant impact on the person I am now.
I have several hobbies and interests. For one, I’ve been involved in Taekwondo for the past 8 years and still very much interested in martial arts in general. Will talk more about it in some other post.
I also love to read. And buy books. I remember back when I was in secondary school I used to spend my holidays at the nearby library, where I was just contented to read about almost everything for 10 hours a day. I also remember when there was a book I wanted to read but not available at the library, I would go to the bookshop and read one chapter a day until I finished it.
But that was before I started earning a bit of money. Ever since I started receiving allowances from my time in army, I started buying books. So much so that I buy books more often than I go shopping for clothes.
I started this blog of mine back in Feb 2007. Partially because I wanted to see what the hype behind blogging was then, partially because I had a bit too much of a free time at work. But it was also because everyday I started seeing a lot of interesting things happening around in Singapore and I felt that I should record it down.
When I was thinking of a title of this blog, I decided to go with ‘Mootzman’. The name came about when my platoon mates in Officer Cadet School were giving each other superhero names, and I ended up with this. Yes, the funny things soldiers do when we are bored.
And since I always see life as an adventure, my tagline became ‘The adventure continues’. I stopped blogging back in June 2007 because I felt I sort of hit a block. i resumed back in Feb 2008 when certain events led me to giving it another try.
While the entries in the blog do represent me to a certain level, there is no way I can write about my whole life here. In fact, think it’s impossible because I live such a exciting life.
You can never say you know a person well. You can only say you knew person well from that time to this time because a person is not an event but a process. So I wouldn’t be too surprised if I write completely different ‘About Me’ in 2 weeks time.
There’s loads more I can write about myself but shan’t be too vain. But this is me, Muthiah.
