Not to worry, I have not given up on this blog yet.
Just that I have rather busy since the month of June began with camps, gatherings etc. Plus the fact that my computer crashed yet again. Don’t think I will do a event by event basis recap because that’s so boring and dreary.
Recently, I read this book titled “The Partner” by John Grisham. John Grisham is another author whose books I either buy or borrow, whichever comes first. In this book, the main character realises that his life is too full of politics, back-stabbing and so much fakeness that he decides enough is enough and decides to fake his own death. He manages to run away with 90 million along the way too.
Though the book has such a sad twist in the end, the concept of ‘running away’ from it all is something everyone has thought about or fantasized atleast once. Or atleast I have. Imagine running away from your problems, wiping the slate clean and starting afresh somewhere else. This then led me to think of a related point.
All humans, or most of them anyway, would want to be a somebody. A somebody in terms of money, popularity, prestige, honour, ego, respect, etc. But you see, all of this does not come over-night and the right word to use here is ‘commitment’.
Without a certain sense of commitment, it may be to your sport, your business, your company you cannot be a somebody. And without being a somebody you will not have a sense of achievement or satisfaction.
But when you are a somebody, you have responsiblities. Responsibilities you just cannot ignore or just chuck one side. Then again begins the cycle of get caught in the rat-race and attempting to escape from it , when we are the very ones who wanted to be in it.
Complicated?
